DESCRIPTION:How will the CTDPA affect your business?\n\n \n\nOn July 1st\, Connecticut will become the fifth state to enact a comprehensive privacy law An Act Concerning Personal Data Privacy and Online Monitoring ('CTDPA').\n\n\n\nThe CTDPA will provide consumers with several data subject rights\, such as rights of access\, correction\, deletion\, data portability\, and the right to opt-out of targeted advertising\, the sale of personal data\, and profiling for automated decision-making.\n\n\n\nThe CTDPA will also require data controllers with certain obligations\, such as providing consumers with a reasonably accessible and clear privacy notice and undertaking data protection assessments for activities that present a heightened risk of harm to consumers\, among others.\n\n\n\nIn this MEWS+ event\, Vin Merola of Murtha Cullina\, will share important information about the CTDPA and what small business owners and anyone who has a website that collects personally identifiable information (PII) from their visitors need to know:\n\n \n\n Consumer rights\n\n Business obligations\n\n Best practices to comply\n\n\n\nThis event will be held both in-person and online.
