DESCRIPTION:The Spirit of 1776: Stay & Play at the Ivoryton Playhouse & The Griswold Inn\n \n\nTHE SPIRIT OF 1776: STAY & PLAY\n\nThursday\, June 25th through Sunday\, July 26th\, 2026\n\nAs we continue to put plans together to commemorate our 250th birthday\, we are thrilled to announce a partnership with the Griswold Inn\, Essex and illustrious Ivoryton Playhouse\, a professional theatre located just 2-miles down the road in neighboring Ivoryton village. Named The First Lady of Connecticut Theatre\, it has been offering quality productions and entertainment for over a century. In fact\, the Playhouse will be celebrating its 115th birthday in May!\n\nWhile the full season offers six exciting productions beginning at the close of March\, we are particularly excited to highlight a Stay & Play package featuring one of our favorite musical productions\, 1776. This story brings to life the spirit and passion of a very important year in the Griswold Inn's history! \n\nThe Stay and Play Package includes:\n\n\n \n Two Theatre Tickets - preferred seating /best available at time of reservation\n \n \n An Overnight Stay at the Griswold Inn\, in one of our charming Standard Rooms\n \n \n Continental Breakfast for Two\n \n \n Commemorative Keepsake\n \n\n\nWeekday Overnight Stays: $350 ~ Sundays\, Tuesdays\, Wednesdays\, Thursdays\n\nTheatre is dark on Mondays and Tuesdays.\n\nFriday & Saturday Stays: $385\n\n*Room upgrades available for an additional charge.
