Move over COVID-19, we can’t be stopped, say’s 24-year-old, Brittany Vose! Travelers Championship, a PGA TOUR Event and the 18 Hole Stroll for Pancreatic Cancer Research, will go on!

Cromwell, CT,June 4, 2020–Due to COVID-19, this year, the 18 Hole Stroll for Pancreatic Cancer Research, which is normally held at the Travelers Championship, will look a little different. Brittany, who started the 18 Hole Stroll 11 years ago to honor her father’s memory, wants to keep her momentum going, not allowing COVID-19 to stop her from her quest to raise a million dollars for pancreatic cancer research. The 2020 Travelers Championship will be played without spectators, but it will be broadcast on TV beginning Thursday, June 25 through Sunday, June 28.

"We know these are challenging times for many families, but pancreatic cancer patients can't wait," said Brittany. "With the support of walkers over the past 11 years, we've been able to raise more than $550,000 for the Lustgarten Foundation and pancreatic cancer research. Due to the pandemic,on Sunday, June 28, 2020, the 18 Hole Stroll will have no walkers, but I would like to make it a “Remembrance Day” for all the loved ones we have lost to pancreatic cancer, as well as, those who are currently fighting the fight.”

Participants can share how they are honoring their loved one on this day of remembrance by posting a picture or a video on social media and tagging the Foundation at @LustgartenFDN. Additionally, the Travelers Championship, Birdies for Charity program will donate $.15 for every dollar raised, which will help the Lustgarten Foundation fund even more pancreatic cancer research.

According to the American Cancer Society, this year, more than 57,000 people will be diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, and 47,000 people will pass away from the disease in the United States—including 500 Connecticut residents. Working to change these statistics, the Lustgarten Foundation has achieved significant milestones in understanding and treating pancreatic cancer and in detecting it earlier–advancements that are already improving patient outcomes and enabling some patients to live longer.
