Essex Annual Shad Bake 2018

The Rotary Club of Essex and the Connecticut River Museum are happy to again partner to bring you a classic Connecticut Spring tradition: The Shad Bake!  

Nailed up on wooden planks around a bonfire, the shad takes on a smoky flavor and is accompanied by plenty of sides, as well as pie from Lyman’s Orchards. 

Programs on the history of the Connecticut Shad fishery will be offered throughout the day. 

A shuttle service will run to the Museum from Town Hall and the Pratt House to ease parking congestion.
